Description of the issue:
Hi, is it possible to have a bad VPS location reset to that of an unscanned Wayspot? I have scanned the location over 50 times, and the VPS status has not changed from experimental to product

Hello,

Unfortunately we can’t clear wayspot data. The best recommendation we can provide is adding more scans following the scan guidelines presented here: https://lightship.dev/docs/ardk/how-to/vps/tooling/lightship_scaniverse/#scanning-technique

If you’ve already contributed several scans following the scanning techniques outlined in the documentation I linked please provide the link to the Wayspot so that we can have a look.

Is there a specific landmark that’s scanned here? Looking at the image, there doesn’t seem to be some sort of focal point like some sort of landmark so that could also be why the scan quality isn’t hitting production

It’s a rest area on a walking trail. I can submit more data and pick one object in that rest area as an “anchor point”. Thank you for the input.

the scanner has difficulty processing objects on the ground or if the ground itself is the object

Thank you for the feedback. I’ll choose an anchor point that’s elevated off of the ground.

I have similar problem with many wayspots; someone have scanned earlier only the sidewalk or the ground, and even if I have provided many (50+) scans, VPS is unrecognized and mesh does not update even if the waypoint VPS is active.

It feels like once something has already been badly scanned, the waypoint is ruined VPS sense, and the only way to create good active VPS wayspots is to find unscanned wayspots and start from beginníng by yourself

Thanks for the feedback, @Kimmo_Siponen. You may be right. There are now over 100 scans on the Wayspot indicated in this post.
