Uploading from Insta360 X4 Air

I’m trying to upload my first test project using files captured on an Insta360 X4. I looked at the metadata and it may be from an Insta360 X4 Air. Does that make a difference? There is nothing about X4 Air compatibility in any documentation (which would be an oversight if it’s not compatible). I borrowed this camera, did all my shooting, now may not be able to use any of it, so am understandably eager to get to the bottom of it. I’m trying to upload a 15 second test clip first, .insv. Thanks!

Support for the Insta360 X4 Air was recently added. Please let me know if you run into any issues while testing it out so we can look into it.

Hi Jesus thank you so much for looking into that for me. Amazing news that X4 Air support has been added. It’s still not letting me upload. Perhaps I could send you the file and have you try? I just picked a short 15s clip as a test before doing my longer 5-6min clips. I’ve tried all my .insv clips and they all give the same error message.

I’m attaching a screenshot of the error message but I cannot attach the .insv itself it won’t let me as a new user.

Hi Michelle,

I let our team know and they’ll be addressing the issue. Looks like a couple more things just need to be updated to finalize support for INSV files from the Air. I apologize for the inconvenience and I’ll reach back out to you when it’s been fixed.

No problem at all - I’m just thankful it’s in the roadmap at all! In case it’s useful here is the 15 second test file I’m trying to upload in case it’s useful for their testing as it is from an X4 Air. Not sure if you can access Dropbox files due to firewall or whatever, but just in case! [link deleted]

Hi Michelle,

I just thought I’d also mention that if a native INSV is not strictly necessary you can also convert it to an MP4 for the time being (just make sure you keep the original INSV for when the issue is addressed)

Thanks Jesus - I’m trying an mp4 upload now. If this works, I’ll likely just proceed with this approach for now for the full project. Please do let me know when the Air support is fully implemented and tested though. I’ll do some user testing for you! Cheers.
