Drop in quality of multi video scan Scaniverse Asset from previous experience

Include the following details while filing a bug report (edit as applicable):

  • Platform category: Scaniverse Web / Scaniverse App
  • Device Model & OS version: iPhone 12 Pro
  • NSDK or Scaniverse version: app v5.2.5

You requested I set up a post for this which was part of another report:

I have a similar experience - lower quality with whole missing areas. Example today site: StJohnsOldSodbury (internal old church). Seems clear that some/many of the 9 contributing scans (iPhone video) have not been included and quality of rest lower than previous. I removed two of the videos and retried - still big blank gaps and other low quality areas. Another separate 3 scan site earlier today also same issues. I note processing time was faster than previously experienced but I’d rather have the wait. Currently not usable at moment but would certainly like to continue use if we can get quality back.

Note. Reading an associated topic it sounds as if problem may be some change in how you link locations from separate videos. This was not previously an issue.

Hi David,

Thanks for creating a separate topic. We’ll have a look at your scans as well and reach back out to you with any updates. So you know, the issue was root caused, and a fix is planned for Friday as of now.

Hi David,

We’ve gone ahead and reimbursed you the credits spent on the lower quality generated Assets. Please try to regenerate an asset on Friday and if the issue persists reply back so that we can look into the issue.

Hi David,

Quick update on the fix, it will be implemented on Monday morning PST rather than Friday

OK. I guess that is why I could see no change on the two sites I just did then  . Out of interest here is a YouTube video from one of the other sites created with Scaniverse then onto Supersplat. Same camera etc. That was very good.

Hi,
Did the fix happen as scheduled. I just uploaded a site with just 3 videos and it looks identical to previous 2 attempts. That is, badly flawed.
Best wishes, David
